Meet Joe

I’m Joe Dawson, licensed electrician and owner/operator of Dawson Electric LLC in North Branford. I’ve been doing electrical work for more than 25 years, and I started this company to give shoreline homeowners and businesses the kind of service I’d want at my own house: show up when you say you will, do it right, and keep the customer in the loop until the job’s done.

How It Started

After growing up in New Haven CT and taking the ASVAB test prior to my enlistment into the Marine Corps my senior year of high school, my recruiter came back with a list of jobs I qualified for. I had no idea what to pick, so I told him to choose, as long as it was something I could build a career on since college probably wasn’t in the cards for me. He placed me in the utilities field, and after boot camp at Parris Island and upon arrival at Marine Corps Engineer School at Courthouse Bay, I landed in the Marine Corps basic Electricians Course.

Twenty-eight years later I’m still doing electrical work. I give full credit for that to my recruiter, GySgt Richardson. He picked well.

Where My Experience Comes From

I served as an electrician in the Marine Corps, reaching the rank of Sergeant. After leading Marines through several deployments I returned to CT to hold positions with private corporations, local contractors, and public utilities. That range of experience, plus the discipline the Corps instilled, goes into every job I do, from a single outlet to a full service upgrade.
